About Carpenters
Carpenters is a very famous musical group from New Haven, Connecticut. The band's musical style can be characterized as a combination pop and soft rock. Richard and Karen, members of the Carpenters, finally broke through with the 1970 release of the Burt Bacharach-Hal David song "(They Long to Be) Close to You", which rose to number 1 and stayed atop the pop charts for four weeks.
